Paramus Sunrise Rotary Club Provides Viands At The Bergen County Homeless Shelter

The ever energetic Paramus Sunrise Rotary Club applied for and delivered sandwiches, fruit and snacks for the guests of the Bergen County Housing, Health and Human Services Center. Going by the specs furnished, they provided roast beef, ham and chicken sandwiches on hoagie bread which contained  lettuce and tomato as well. Lined up cafeteria style, the patrons had their choice of apples, bananas, bottled water, cookies and chip snacks. This was one of the many Community Service activities of the club.

First Family Of Paramus Hosts Their First Family From Burma For Paramus Sunrise Rotary Club

When Mayor Rich LaBarbiera and Mary Ann, his wife, learned of the need for a host family for the Paramus Sunrise Rotary Club Gift of Life child, they immediately volunteered. As MaryAnn said " I have three sons and now I have a chance to have a daughter, if only for a little while." The preparations for Mary and her mother took a long time. Coming from Burma, there was a tremendous amount of paperwork to contend with. Sunrise President Sophie Stone went over to Burma/Myanmar to help facilitate the passage and was able to bring them back to the United States with her. Read More....

Paramus Sunrise Rotary Club Fashion Show A Big Social And Financial Success

It was worth all the effort said Paramus Sunrise Rotary Club President Joe Castelano. After months of planning, soliciting and procuring, the club held its 5th Annual Fashion Show at The Fiesta on Thursday, June 6th. The proceeds from this charity event will allow the club to donate monies to local Paramus organizations and to the Rotary sponsored Gift of Life. As is the custom of the Paramus Sunrise Rotary Club, they hold an International Dinner almost every month. This month, Matsu of Hillsdale was selected as the dining choice; it was a good one! If you have ever walked out of a restaurant and exclaimed that everything was delicious, then you must try Matsu located at 140 Broadway in Hillsdale. Paramus Sunrise Rotary Club Has Its Irish International Night At Green Canteen

True to its tradition of having various International Nights, Irish Night was entrusted to Bob Doyle and Sharon Maloney. After surveying the various restaurants, the Green Canteen on Sussex Street was selected and we were welcomed by Vito Mazza, the older! His son, Vito, the owner, came a little later. The restaurant which normally does breakfast and lunch was only open for this catering function. This led to greater camaraderie among the fourteen members and guests who attended. Read More....
