Paramus Sunrise Rotary Club Hails The Rotary Clock

When Mayor Rich LaBarbiera decided that a clock would add to the Paramus persona, he turned to Paramus Sunrise Rotarian Mukesh Malkan. Rotarian Malkan set about raising the money needed and the planning required. It started out at needing $25,000.00 but changed. The fact that it would be about $60,000.00 still did not phase Malkan. Although Paramus Sunrise raised the most amount of money, he went to the other Rotary clubs in town for support. The result: A Rotary town clock on the corner of Midland and Farview Avenues. Mephibosheth In Ghana Through the efforts and benefice of Paramus Sunrise Honorary Member Tina Apprich, Andrea Linder Appiah , co-director of Mephibosheth Training Centre in Apam, Ghana explained her mission to members of Paramus Sunrise Rotary. She operates a school along with her husband, a native Ghanian, that specializes in unhiding hidden children. Before they started their Centre, these special children used to sit in their houses, hidden from society, waiting for their parents to come home. Read More.....

 

Paramus Sunrise Rotary Club Fashion Show A Big Social And Financial Success

It was worth all the effort said Paramus Sunrise Rotary Club President Joe Castelano. After months of planning, soliciting and procuring, the club held its 5th Annual Fashion Show at The Fiesta on Thursday, June 6th. The proceeds from this charity event will allow the club to donate monies to local Paramus organizations and to the Rotary sponsored Gift of Life. They have already chosen to accept a child from Burma/Myanmar for the Gift of Life program. The other allotments will be decided on at a later date. (Read more...........)

 

Paramus Sunrise Rotary Club Has A Successful International India Dinner

Paramus Sunrise Rotary, a Tuesday morning club, holds evening functions every so often. Among them are Cocktail Hours, Fireside Chats and International Dinners. The latter takes place at various restaurants giving the members a chance to taste the different ethnic foods. In the month of May, a get together was held at New Bombay Grill, 166 Cedar Lane in Teaneck. The food was exotic, delightfully spicy, delicious and varied to serve the palates of the vegetarians as well as the meat eaters. The staff was only too eager to please the Rotarians also who represent a mix of ethnic countries. Read More......

Diveheart is an underwater organization that specializes in inspiring individuals with disabilities to explore new opportunities by building confidence and independence through adaptive measures of scuba training accompanied by diving adventures. By using instructors who are especially trained for this type of instruction and wellbeing, Diveheart sallies forth into the world of the needy and brings them into the world of underwater freedom. Paramus Sunrise Rotary Fashion Show Fundraiser

Service Above Self, The Rotary Motto, Is Typical Of Paramus Sunrise Rotary As They Hold Their Annual Fashion Show Fundraiser

On June 6th, Paramus Sunrise Rotary will hold their 5th annual major fundraiser, a Fashion Show. This year's show will be held at The Fiesta in Wood-Ridge and noted models like Assemblywoman Connie Wagner, Paramus Mayor Rich LaBarbiera and his wife, First Lady MaryAnn and Dr. Kay Walker of Bergen Community College among others will be walking down the runway.

For a low fee of $50.00 for a sit-down dinner and entertainment, those that attend will be able to participate in an interesting Tricky Tray, a raffle and still be eligible for door prizes. Tables of ten are available for reservations and anything donated to the club will be eligible for a 501 (c) 3 tax deduction by making checks out to Paramus Sunrise Rotary Foundation.
