Gene Yau of Asianteadepot.com was the speaker at the Paramus Sunrise Club meeting held at the IBEW Local 164 Training Center. Yau explained that certain teas should not be subjected to boiling water, but at a temperature of about 185 degrees. He referred to green tea and to white tea. All the rest should use boiling water.
Rotaract is coming to Paramus The newly forming Rotaract Club held a meeting April 1st at Bonefish Restaurant on From Road in Paramus. Congenial host Arun Joshi gave them a private room and supplied them with appetizers. Several Rotaract members were present along with their advisor and three parents. Plans were made to gather more members for their every other Wednesday meetings.
Todd Galinko, Senior Financial Consultant, PNC Bank, spoke to the Paramus Sunrise Rotary Club about charting a financial plan. He explained that money can be made in an up or down market. The big thing is to have an advisor who is disciplined to protect client investments. He handed out a graph and explained how he follows the market.
Bob Traitz, 1st Vice President/Investments of Stifel, Nicolaus & Company spoke at the Tuesday AM meeting of the Paramus Sunrise Rotary Club. Just when one thinks they have understood the ins and outs of college funding, along comes someone like Traitz to show how to analyze the costs and to take advantage of different funding mechanisms.
Some people regard the Paramus Borough Administrator as a tough person at his job. Others may regard him as putting up a false front. I regard Anthony Iacono as a friend, a man concerned with helping a cause, an ailing child, a person or a friend in need. Despite rumors to the contrary, Anthony is a hard working dedicated well educated individual.
Sunrise President, Anthony Iacono, loves to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. As a result, Paramus Sunrise Rotary went green. A green tablecloth supplied by Sophie Stone covered the dais desk. A green Remembrance candle was lit and members exhorted to wear green. Even the IBEW Local 164 went along by offering us Irish Soda Bread. We were missing Deirdre Imus whose entire annual effort is geared towards going green.
Paramus Sunrsie 03-10-09 At the March 10th meeting, the main topic of discussion was solar energy, its benefits and costs. Richard Buzz Dressel alerted the club to the pro's and cons, the benefits and the financial aspects. He also touched upon its carbon footprint and the fact that the IBEW Local 164 will be at the forefront in not only installing solar panels on their buildings, but offering instruction as well. He offered a way for Paramus Sunrise Rotary to get involved!
Paramus Sunrise 03/01/09 Accompanied by recently retired Paramus Court Administrator, Alberta J. Potter, Paramus Municipal Court Judge Joseph L. Mecca Jr. addressed the Paramus Sunrise Rotary Club at their weekly Tuesday morning meeting. The Honorable Judge Mecca explained the functioning of the court explaining the types and volume of cases. 'Bert' Potter filled us in on the behind the scenes operations.

G. Jeremiah Ryan, the dynamic president of Bergen Community College spoke at the regular Tuesday morning meeting of the Paramus Sunrise Rotary Club. When Ryan speaks, people listen! Although he had prepared pamphlets for the club members and a data sheet in front of him, there was no need for this articulate person to refer to them.
