Paramus Sunrise Rotary To Host Gift of Life Child


After a successful Fashion Show fundraiser, President Anthony Iacono has set the $6,000.00 aside to host a Gift of Life child. His next hurdle is to get host families for the recipient. Any volunteers? At the club Installation Dinner, next Wednesday, June 10th, Iacono is arranging to have a current Gift of Life recipient present. The dinner will be held at Sanzari's New Bridge Inn, 105 Old New Bridge Road, New Milford. Ph 201 692 7700 for directions. Saved for the end, Mayor James Tedesco appeared in a tuxedo and received applause and acclaim. The appreciation was not aimed at the Mayor, but at Haley Santos, his nine month old granddaughter who was in his arms. That cute little tyke smiled at everyone and then waved to all, a starlet! The audience oohed and aahed at the Mayor's bundle of joy and applauded Haley's responses.

Paramus Sunrise Rotary Crams For Its Fashion Show Friday, May 29th


President Anthony Iacono in his longest meeting ever dedicated it to the Fashion Show scheduled for this Friday evening, 7 PM at the IBEW Local 164 Training Center. Iacono has put in a lot of work into making this charitable venture a success and has set a goal of raising $6000,00 for the club to sponsor a Gift of Life (GoL) child. He mentioned that every net dollar raised will go to charity! Expenses are being kept to a minimum!

Meeting 05/19/09 With the first fundraiser for Paramus Sunrise Rotary Club coming a week from Friday on May 29th, President Anthony Iacono is lining up the schedule. Ticketholders are eligible for the $500.00 door prize and Iacono hints that there may be a larger door prize in the works. He is also planning a large assortment of Tricky Tray items and will have a table offering new dresses for $1.00 each. The emcee will be Cliff Witmyer of Cliffhanger Productions, a seasoned entertainment producer.

Paramus Sunrise Rotary Club Prepares Super Fundraiser

Meeting 05/12/09 The first major fundraiser for the fledgling club is a Fashion Show. To accommodate the attendees, food, door and tricky tray prizes, a dollar a dress table, a DJ, presentations from a dance school, entertainment and prominent models will be offered. Assemblywoman Connie Wagner and Mayor James Tedesco are already signed on to model with other public figures due to be on the walkway.

Paramus Sunrise Rotary Is Introduced To The Art Of Living


Meeting 05/05/09 Member Nripen Barua arranged with Liz Mason, our program coordinator, to have Chetna Cariappa [chetna.cariappa@artofliving.org] appear before the group to explain the Art of Living and introduce the Sunrise members to it. After an explanation, Chetna sat down in a chair facing the audience and put them through breathing relaxation procedures. It being Liz's birthday, President Anthony Iacono gave her the honor of lighting our Remembrance Candle and extinguishing it at the end of the meeting.

Rotarians, Boatarians, Environmentarians

On Saturday, May 2nd, over 27 Rotarians and Rotaractors assembled at the Riverside County Park South north entrance boat dock. Their purpose: to have some water fun kayaking and then cleaning some of the detritus that is inherent to a river like the Passaic. Eastern Mountain Sports was kind enough to make kayaks available for a special price solely for this event. There were fifteen kayaks on the water.

Meeting 04/14/09 President Anthony Iacono presented the Paramus Sunrise Rotary Club with a dilemma. Plans for the suggested date in early May would be difficult to see to fruition. He polled the club and a new date of Friday, May 29th was set for the function to be held at the IBEW Local 164 Training Center. The good news is that The Bergen Town Center has agreed to sponsor the Fashion Show.
