Mike Goldman motivates Sunrise
We'll see if his message did come across since after the meeting, Mike Goldman was invited to join Paramus Sunrise Rotary Club, one of the most dynamic clubs in the 52 club District 7490. President-Elect Mukesh Malkan and member Mel Fabrikant extended the invitation.
Mike Blitzstein gave a new member bio. Although Mike Blitzstein is a Charter Member, he had never given a bio. He apologized for his haggard look; explained that he had been out campaigning every night in his quest to be reelected as a councilman in Paramus. A third generation owner, Blitzstein operates 2 auto parts supply places, one in Bergenfield and one in Englewood along with Guylaine, his wife and son Robert. A community minded family, Blitzsteiin's daughter is a member of the Paramus Ambulance Corps.
PDG Joe Laureni will be offering four computer classes for Rotarians over at Bergen Community College. Assistant Governor Lee Rickenburg asked for ads for the Gift of Life Journal and explained what the Gift of Life Program is about. Member Jayshree Winters, MD, mentioned the joy she had when hosting a GoL child and the later contacts.
President Anthony Iacono assigned Sgt. at Arms Val Coniglio to be in charge of selecting someone to light our Remembrance Candle each week and stated that the last person to arrive blows the candle out at the end of the meeting. This week, Coniglio asked Police Chief Richard Cary to light the candle. Mike Yeun had the dubious honor of blowing the candle out.
The IBEW Local 164 is conducting a used clothing drive and Paramus Sunrise Rotary wants to help. Sophie Stone brought in a shopping bag filled with clothing and Iacono commended her.
